I talked to Al Wallace at IV’s restaurant in Tupelo earlier today and he said he was re-opening his restaurant on Monday, Dec. 1, at its new location on West Main Street across from Ballard Park.

Extreme Heat Tanning is getting the paperwork done to open a business in King’s Crossing shopping development, which is anchored by Kohl’s. We’re getting more details about the business, but we’d bet it’s a tanning salon.

Bel Air Grill will replace Backyard Burger at The Mall at Barnes Crossing Food Court. Bel Air Grill will have an attractive menu including burgers and fries.

It appears we like tiny burgers A LOT in Tupelo. The Krystal publicist e-mailed the following update to the Biz this morning:
I received some info that the Tupelo Krystal opening was a record opening (in terms of sales). Not sure if this a record in the company’s 76 years — but definitely a record opening [...] |

Update Nov. 12: Kroger manager Latoya Lloyd confirmed today that Starbucks renewed its lease in the Crosstown location until January. The company might renew for longer. It might not. She said the two companies still are working on the details.
