DESCRIPTION:

A typical southern BBQ restaurant with some not so typical menu items. Eli's has all the natural selections of a BBQ restaurant - ribs, pulled pork, BBQ chicken , slaw beans etc. However, the thing that sets them apart is some of their sections you don't find at other restaurants - Fried Green Tomato's, Fried Okra, Piggles (fried pickle spear), Gater Taters (spiral potato chips), BBQ Nachos and even a BBQ Sundae. They also have three kinds of sauce - HOT, Hickory Smoke, and Tangy Mild.

We have eaten at Eli's multiple times and always had a good experience. My favorite thing is their fried green tomato's. (I am so glad they offer a basket serving of them!) They will even give you a cup of ranch dressing to go with them if you request it. Watch out for the hot sauce though it has a KICK. On our last visit my husband and I debated on if it was habanero or jalapeño in the sauce, eventually we asked the lady working the front counter - she said she was not 100% sure of the secret recipe but she would guess habanero. (I was right!) Personally, I prefer the tangy sauce it has a sweet vinegary taste but with a little heat to it. The portions are generous and the pricing is fair. The staff has always been friendly/helpful and the atmosphere is interesting lots of old platters and pictures on the walls. The only downside is the place is fairly small so getting seating on a busy weekend night can be hard to do at times. It is worth the wait though!
